Bob Chasey makes a welcome return to the podium with a performance of Dvorak’s New World symphony, one of the great classical works. The BSO will also perform a dramatic overture by the British composer Malcolm Arnold depicting the tragic events of Manchester’s Peterloo massacre in 1819 and complete the programme with the Irish melody inspired Flute Concerto by member of the orchestra Geraldine Green with our coprincipal flute Julie Leach playing the solo.
